Artistic Direction and Design
My experiences as a director, sound designer, and occasional actor have given me a platform to hone in long form storytelling skills outside of journalism. When the pandemic halted plans for a production of "The Wiz", I began to explore methods of theatre-making that blended journalism-style research and community/ensemble focused storytelling, elements of which are evident through my most recent productions.
An Evening of Song

What started out as a lineup of songs at the Living Room Theatres in Boca Raton became a full-fledged musical theatre showcase! An Evening of Song is a collection of contemporary musical theatre performances from hit shows such as The Wiz, Hair, Heathers, Little Shop of Horrors, and more.

Malcom X: The Ballot or the Bullet
February 2020
"Malcolm X: The Ballot or the Bullet" is a staged reading of one of the last public speeches by human rights activist Malcolm X. Malcolm X advised African Americans to judiciously exercise their right to vote, but he cautioned that if the government continued to prevent African Americans from attaining full equality, it might be necessary for them to take up arms. It was ranked 7th in the top 100 American speeches of the 20th century by 137 leading scholars of American public address.

to combine the skills I learned in
Journalism, Theatre, Communication,
and Diversity & Global Affairs into an
action-oriented, multimedia project.
Half-Musical Theatre Showcase and
Half-Documentary, Collage Night
examines the inspirations and
tribulations of Black and Brown theatre
students at FAU, combining musical
theatre performance with candid
interviews about racism in academia and moving through theatre education as an
‘othered’ individual.
Women of Soul
February 2021
Throughout the 60s, young artists toured the country as newly signed singers of the ‘Motortown Revue,’ a series of fast-paced, high-energy concerts that launched Motown and its supporting acts to international fame. Women of Soul is a concert-style tribute to the Soul artists who changed the sound of America, performed by members of the Black Undergraduate Theatre Collective!
